In MEMORIAM | Robin Lowell Carroll

Robin Lowell Carroll, AIA, November 11, 1930 – May 23, 2015, lived a full and productive life. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Robin was a long time member of University Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge, serving as an elder, deacon, youth leader, a Sunday school teacher and even a member of Presbyterian Women, where he served as an honorary woman. As an architect, he received many awards and accolades, working on several Baton Rouge landmarks. A member of the American Institute of Architects and a partner of Williamson-Carroll Architects, he served as president of the Baton Rouge chapter as well as state president. Robin was an avid fisherman and enjoyed sailing and spending time with his wife Peggy at his home in Killian, which he designed himself. Known for his incisive wit, Robin was always quick with a joke or a funny story. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean conflict. Robin is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Leila Robinson Carroll, a wife, Mary Katherine Laurich Carroll and his sister Gay Bruce. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, sons Bruce, Jason and Alan, daughters-in law Angie, Eucaris and Corrie, grandchildren Katherine, Dawn, Christopher, Colton and Heather and many other family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at University Presbyterian Church, 3240 Dalrymple Dr., Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial contributions be made to University Presbyterian Church.
