OUTLINE
Harry M. Falconer Jr., AIA, NCARB from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) will present on a range of licensure topics relevant to students, aspiring architects, supervisors, architects, and people in the architecture profession. The presentation will review the steps necessary to achieve licensure to become an architect and other programs to get the most out of your career in architecture.

He will remain on-site after the presentation to help address specific questions on an individual basis.
BIOGRAPHY
Harry Falconer joined NCARB in April 2006. As Director, Experience + Education, he leads the directorate to provide professional support for the IDP as well as NCARB’s various education-based programs including the NCARB education standard, NCARB Award, BEA, and continuing education initiatives. He is also responsible for administration of the Architect Licensing Advisors Community and the Council’s outreach initiatives to schools, professional conferences, and firms.
Falconer’s career in architecture includes 15 years of experience in architecture-engineering firms and seven years of experience in facilities planning and design. His direct involvement in all phases of design, construction, and project management allowed him to become knowledgeable in the many aspects of the profession. Falconer’s practice of architecture, while varied, focused on the college and university market sector.
Falconer holds a bachelor of architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is licensed to practice architecture in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, has been certified as a construction documents technologist by the Construction Specifications Institute, and holds the NCARB Certificate for national reciprocity. In 2010, Falconer was awarded NCARB’s highest honor, the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, for his leadership in the Intern Development Program (IDP).
