CSRS is currently seeking a talented and highly motivated professional to serve as the Architecture Practice Lead. This candidate will support the Executive Vice President of Talent & Innovation by driving a culture of technical excellence and relevance throughout the architecture practice. Candidates are expected to facilitate and support staffing and resource allocation to programs, projects, and pursuits, collaborate and support human resources in talent acquisition, provide direction and opportunities on professional development activities for architects within the firm, collaborate with other practice leads on initiatives, and act as client, program, or project manager on certain architectural projects.

As the Architecture Practice Lead, the candidates will be responsible for directing and coordinating all technical aspects of their designated subject matter across the firm. The practice leads represents the strategic interests of the firm by anticipating and managing technical evolutions in their subject matter and relating them to business solutions. Futhermore, the practice leads are expected to ensure that the designated personnel within the firm collectively maintain the most up-to-date and appropriate highest standard of practice in the industry for their designated subject matter.

Summary of Essential Job Attributes:

Engage, motivate, and help retain talent within the architecture practice.
Act as the knowledge champion for architecture practice area.
Assist the Executive Vice President of Talent & Innovation to translate the firm’s strategy into action.
Develop a full understanding of the current standards of practice for architecture within the industry as it applies to CSRS’ practices.
As required identify key hires in the marketplace and coordinate hiring efforts with the Human Resources and Executive Vice President of Talent & Innovation.
Working with the Program and Project Managers, ensure that appropriate personnel and other subject matter experts are available and assigned to appropriate projects.
Working with the Executive Vice President of Strategy & Growth, ensure that proper personnel are assigned to the Capture Team on new pursuits.
Determine appropriate conferences, conventions, and other continuing education functions that have the potential to showcase the firm’s abilities and lead the firm’s efforts to make presentations, papers, promotional materials, booths, etc.
Be the internal champion for any corrective action needed within the firm on behalf of architecture practice area.
Seek out, capture, catalog and disseminate Lessons Learned relevant to architecture practice.
Motivate, coach and guide Direct Reports and provide technical direction and guidance.
Define individual performance objectives and development plans, annual Incentive Compensation Plan (ICP) goals, and ensure alignment with firm’s strategic objectives.
Manage the work assignment and utilization forecast for all the Direct Reports.
When needed, coordinate the work assignment and utilization for those within the group other than the Direct Reports with the Vice President of Operations and the Program & Project Managers.
Lead Direct Reports who are remote and virtual.
Oversee and assist the Direct Reports’ technical, professional and personal development, including obtaining and maintaining appropriate licensure, certification and other designations.
In conjunction with the Vice President of Operations, track the weekly utilization of the Direct Reports against designated targets and communicate regularly with Program and Project Managers to ensure a consistent work flow for each Direct Report.
Assist the Executive Vice President of Talent & Innovation in identifying any overhead cost line items including sponsorships, conferences, training, business development, software, and hardware expenditures specifically relative to enhancing the firms subject matter expertise.
Position Requirements:

Five-Year Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Architecture from a NAAB Accredited University.
Registered Architect in the U.S. (Louisiana, Texas, or Florida preferred)
Minimum 15 years professional practice experience as an architect with a focus on programmatically and technically complex projects, including minimum 8 years of progressively responsible practice management experience.
Ability to establish a leadership position among peers in the industry within the practice area.
Ability to interact positively and effectively with all levels and functions within the firm as well as with clients and partners.
Ability to negotiate and build consensus for resource needs, problem-solving and solutions with peers, subordinates and management.
Knowledge of business and operational processes, proposal development, contract negotiations, and risk management.
Must be a self-motivated individual requiring minimal supervision, be a team player, and have a passion for team building.
Ability to develop effective relationships with and establish communication protocols between Direct Reports.
Knowledge of public relations practices and procedures.
Flexible and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to top management, clients, and staff.
Superior writing, presentation, and editing skills with a commitment to the highest quality standards
