Seeking an individual who is interested in learning and working with the technical aspects of historic buildings and building materials preservation and conservation. Candidate must have a professional degree (BA or MA) from an accredited Architecture School, a strong proficiency in AutoCAD and a thorough knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. He or she should also have one to three year’s experience working in an architectural office with a basic understanding of the development of a set of project Construction Drawings.
This is a full time, in office position working with the care of large, institutional historic buildings. Experience with the documentation of existing historic buildings and transcription of information from original construction documents of historic buildings would be especially helpful. Our current need is for someone who, under supervision, can assist with the production of accurate, complex construction drawings in a timely fashion; but who would also be interested in eventually learning best practices for the administration of the preservation/conservation construction work itself.
