Kathleen Gordon, Executive Director of AIA Louisiana, holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, and has worked in professional organization direction since 2008. She works closely with the chapter membership that covers the state of Louisiana. She coordinates a number of efforts focused on education as well as long‐term planning, works closely with regulatory agencies affecting architecture, advocates for the profession with the Louisiana legislature and others, and strives diligently to identify areas where architects can best utilize their talents to the benefit of their communities, state, and future generations.
Kathleen’s sons, their wives, and her young granddaughter bring great joy and laughter while she also has a passion for traveling, biking, hiking, and generally being outdoors. She’s also recently found new challenge, and laughs, in learning a variety of ballroom dance.

Kathy D. Desselle, Director of Membership and Programs of AIA Louisiana, has worked in the non-profit professional sector for 41 years, and attended LSU of Alexandria in the field of Business Management. She works closely with the membership and Board of Directors to assess membership needs, set annual and long-range strategic goals, component activities and programs to accomplish membership goals and objectives, and that the mission of the organization is fulfilled.
Kathy’s greatest joy is spending time with her wonderful and supportive husband, her son, and her family. Her hobbies are whitewater rafting and exploring caverns. She loves to laugh and enjoys life to the fullest! |
Janet C. Simoneaux |
Janet Simoneaux, Communications/Administrative Coordinator has worked at AIA Louisiana for 15 years. After almost 30 years at Dow Chemical, she decided to take on a new challenge in the non-profit sector. She works closely with members and their day-to-day needs and issues. She is responible for the maintenance of the website, monthly reporting, contract document sales and event registrations along with many other daily tasks.
Janet enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her 12 grandchildren keep her busy with baseball, softball, lacrosse, dance, gymnastics and many other activities. Her hobbies are golf, travel, fishing and loves most outdoor activities and all LSU sports. Her goal is to retire “for real” some day!
