Celebrating Architecture: Hays Town Exhibit



AtĀ the Old State Capitol, an opening reception, sponsored by the Louisiana Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, was held for the latest exhibit, “The Enduring Architecture of A. Hays Town.” The exhibit examines A. 2015 End of Session Wrap-up



Itā€™s over Louisianaā€™s 2015 regular legislative session ended last Thursday at 6pm, and itā€™s aĀ good thing itā€™s finally over. What do you get when you mix a term-limited governor, nearly 30 term-limited legislators, and a $1.6 billion budget deficit? Iā€™m still not sure, but I think itā€™s called the SAVE Act (more on that here). After graduation, Elizabeth decided to say goodbye to Baton Rouge and moved back to her hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana. H.M. ‘Tim’ Favrot Jr., architect and civic leader



Henri Mortimer “Tim” Favrot, an architect and real estate developer who was active in a long list of professional and civic organizations, died Sunday (May 10) at his New Orleans home. He was 85. A lifelong New Orleanian who attended Jesuit High School and graduated from Culver Military Academy, Mr. Favrot earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture at Tulane University and a master’s degree in the subject at Harvard University.
